On June 17, 2026, Multnomah County opened a new WIC AVIVA clinic in Portland, Oregon, marking a major boost for local public health.
Located at 427 S.E. 187th Ave., this modern facility replaces the former Gateway clinic, which had become too small for the community's needs.
The clinic provides vital nutrition services, breastfeeding support, and health referrals for pregnant individuals and families with children under five.
Designed with a focus on accessibility, the AVIVA clinic is more than double the size of its predecessor.
Multnomah County, which has the largest WIC client base in Oregon, served over 20,000 people in 2025.
By embedding this clinic directly into the neighborhood, officials hope to create a stronger safety net, ensuring local children have the nutrition and support they need to thrive.
As Public Health Director Kirsten Aird noted, this new hub is dedicated to supporting families and promoting long-term food security.
