In a significant move to tackle the healthcare worker shortage, the Integrated Health and Technology Learning Hub has opened at Swinburne University of Technology’s Wantirna campus.
Launched in October 2025, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to prepare students for the demands of the modern health sector.
With a capacity to welcome 3,000 students annually, the hub features realistic clinical teaching rooms and digital learning spaces, including a specialized home care room.
This project is vital, as projections suggest that Victoria will need 86,500 new health and social assistance workers by 2027.
Driven by an aging population and technological advancements, this hub is a cornerstone of the government's strategy to build a robust, job-ready workforce.
By focusing on practical skills and accessible education, Victoria is creating a sustainable pipeline of talent to support the community's evolving health needs for years to come.
