Excitement for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise has reached a fever pitch!
On September 12, 2026, a new trailer and key visual were unveiled for the latest installment, *Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgisnacht Rising*.
Designed by original character artist Ume Aoki, the visual builds on the hype surrounding this long-awaited sequel to the 2013 hit *Rebellion*.
Since hitting Japanese theaters on August 28, 2026, *Walpurgisnacht Rising* has dominated the box office.
The film impressively surpassed 1 billion yen in just four days, outperforming its predecessor.
Reuniting the core creative team, including director Akiyuki Shinbo and screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, the film also introduces a mysterious new character named 'Wasu,' voiced by Maaya Sakamoto.
While the production journey—first announced in 2021—faced several delays, fans are clearly thrilled with the final result.
A word of warning for those eagerly watching the latest trailer: it contains significant spoilers, so watch at your own risk if you haven't seen the movie yet!
