New My Hero Academia short film is released online

Exciting news for fans of the My Hero Academia franchise!

A brand-new special short film, titled I Am a Hero Too, was officially released online on August 3, 2026.

This charming six-minute anime is based on a one-shot manga chapter created by the series author, Kohei Horikoshi, originally featured in the Ultra Age official fanbook.

Set years after the main series ended, the story follows Eri, now a high school student, as she visits U.A.

High School to seek musical advice from her former mentor, Deku, who now works as a teacher.

This project provides a touching closure to Eri's character arc, which fans felt was left largely unexplored during the intensity of the final war.

Directed by Tomo Okubo, the film is a highlight of the ongoing 10th Anniversary Project.

Although the main manga and anime concluded in 2024 and 2025 respectively, this short film proves that the world of heroes is still very much alive.

With future concert tours and exhibitions on the horizon, Studio Bones continues to keep the spirit of the series strong for loyal fans worldwide.
