New God of War spin-off featuring Laufey revealed

Exciting news for fans of the God of War series!

During Sony’s June 2026 State of Play event, Santa Monica Studio officially announced a brand-new spin-off title, God of War: Laufey.

Currently in development for the PlayStation 5, this game shifts the spotlight to Kratos’ late wife, Faye.

After her death in the 2018 game, Faye finds herself trapped in a mysterious afterlife realm called 'the Everywhen.'

The story centers on her determined quest to escape this land, where gods from various mythologies clash, and reunite with her family.

Unlike Kratos, who relies on brute strength, Faye’s combat style emphasizes graceful, sword-wielding agility.

The game features an atmospheric world filled with dangerous magic and unexpected encounters, including a talking gelatinous cube voiced by actor Jack Quaid.

Deborah Ann Woll returns to voice Faye, bringing depth to the character.

While we eagerly await a release date, this spin-off promises a fresh perspective on the epic God of War universe.
