Fans of the acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima universe have an exciting reason to celebrate.
A new anime series, titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, is currently in development and slated for a 2027 premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll.
Unlike the main games, which follow specific protagonists like Jin Sakai, this series draws inspiration from the game's cooperative multiplayer mode, focusing on Japanese folklore and mythology.
The project is a major collaborative effort between Sony, PlayStation Productions, Aniplex, and Crunchyroll.
A powerhouse creative team is leading the production, including director Takanobu Mizuno and scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi, known for their work on Star Wars: Visions and Fate/Zero, respectively.
First showcased at Anime Expo 2026, the series highlights iconic character classes like the Ronin and the Hunter.
Executives have described this venture as a bold step in bringing game worlds into the anime medium, promising a unique visual and storytelling experience for global audiences.
