New $4.3 Billion Hospital Campus Reaches 60 Percent Completion
In Indianapolis, a massive healthcare milestone is underway.
The new Indiana University Health downtown hospital campus, a project costing $4.3 billion, has officially reached 60 percent completion.
Spanning 44 acres, this ambitious development is set to replace the existing Methodist and University hospitals.
Designed with the lessons of the pandemic in mind, the hospital will include 864 adaptable patient rooms that can easily shift into intensive care units.
With 50 operating rooms and strong integration with the IU School of Medicine, the site aims to revolutionize regional healthcare.
Managed by a joint venture of F.A.
Wilhelm Construction and Gilbane Building Co., the campus remains on track to welcome its first patients in late 2027.
As the largest healthcare construction project currently in progress in the United States, it represents a significant investment in the future of medical technology and patient care.
