Miami community marks fifth anniversary of Cuba protests

In July 2026, the Miami community gathered in Little Havana to mark the fifth anniversary of the historic July 11, 2021, anti-government protests in Cuba, widely known as "11J."
These events remain a powerful symbol for the Cuban exile community, honoring the thousands who took to the streets across the island to demand change.

Five years later, an estimated 800 political prisoners remain incarcerated, underscoring the ongoing struggle for human rights.
To commemorate the anniversary, Miami hosted the "Cuban Freedom March" along the iconic Calle Ocho, alongside moving art exhibitions at the Tower Theater.
