On May 18, 2026, the popular K-pop group ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) officially entered a new chapter, transitioning into a five-member act.
Initially formed on the show Boys Planet, the group has moved past its original project contract.
While members Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, and Han Yu-jin have moved on to a new project called AND2BLE, the remaining five members—Sung Han-bin, Kim Ji-woong, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, and Park Gun-wook—are continuing the group's legacy.
To mark this change, they released their sixth EP, titled Ascend-.
The members describe their new musical direction as more minimalist and sophisticated, aiming to showcase their unique artistic strengths.
Leader Sung Han-bin explained that the hyphen in the title signifies their dedication to constant growth.
Notably, Park Gun-wook has begun contributing to production, reflecting the quintet's increased creative control.
Despite the group's reorganization, all members remain supportive of one another, viewing their paths as those of benevolent competitors.
