In June 2026, history was made in Shangyu, China, as India’s women’s 4x100m relay team stormed to victory at the Asian Relays Championships.
The talented quartet—Srabani Nanda, SS Sneha, Sudeshna Shivankar, and Tamanna—delivered a stunning performance, clocking a season-best time of 43.85 seconds.
Coached by Martin Owens of the Reliance Foundation, the team showcased impeccable baton exchanges and incredible speed, narrowly defeating formidable rivals from China and Thailand.
This gold medal was the crown jewel of India’s successful campaign, which also saw them secure silver in the mixed 4x400m and bronze in the mixed 4x100m relays.
Beyond the immediate glory, this win serves as a crucial milestone for Indian track and field as the nation prepares for the Commonwealth and Asian Games.
With India set to host the next edition of the Asian Relays Championships in Chandigarh in 2027, the future of Indian sprinting looks incredibly bright.
