Grande Prairie Hosts Annual Kidney and Transplant Health Forum

On April 25, 2026, the Northern Alberta and Territories branch of The Kidney Foundation of Canada hosted its second annual Grande Prairie Kidney and Transplant Health Forum.

Held at the Collins Recital Hall at Northwestern Polytechnic, this vital event brought together patients, families, donors, and caregivers.

The forum serves as a crucial platform for individuals navigating kidney disease, offering expert-led sessions on nutrition, mental wellness, and the transplant process.

Community Engagement Manager Krysta Gendreau emphasized that these gatherings are essential for reducing the sense of isolation often felt by patients.

By providing specialized health education locally, the foundation eliminates the need for residents to travel to larger urban centers.
