At Intersolar Europe 2026, GCL System Integration (GCL SI) announced a major strategic shift, naming back-contact (BC) cell technology as the foundation of its future photovoltaic roadmap.
The company believes technologies like TOPCon and HJT are reaching their physical limits, prompting this move to what they describe as the ultimate architecture for crystalline silicon.
With conversion efficiencies reaching up to 24.05% at the module level and 28.38% for the cells themselves, the GPC 3.0 combines aesthetic appeal with high performance.
As the first shipments arrive in Europe, GCL SI is signaling a transition in the industry: moving beyond simple cost-cutting toward a holistic value proposition that prioritizes high efficiency, environmental responsibility, and elegant design for the global distributed solar market.
