In recent years, the G7 has taken a leading role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
It all began in 2023 with the Hiroshima AI Process, which introduced a 'Code of Conduct' focused on making AI safe and trustworthy.
Since then, the group has evolved from simply discussing ethical principles to taking concrete action.
By the 2025 Canada Summit and the 2026 France Summit, the focus shifted toward practical implementation, including the G7 AI Adoption Roadmap to improve public sector efficiency.
The G7 currently balances two main goals: stimulating economic growth for businesses and managing risks like misinformation, deepfakes, and cybersecurity threats.
By collaborating with technology leaders and civil society, the G7 aims to create global standards that ensure AI benefits everyone while protecting democratic values and national security.
