Frostpunk 2 Gets New DLC and Original Game Remake Announced
The survival strategy scene is heating up—or perhaps cooling down—as 11 bit studios celebrates 11 million players with major news.
During the April 2026 Frostpunk Franchise Fest, the developer announced that the sequel, Frostpunk 2, will receive a massive expansion titled Breach of Trust.
Launching on June 23, 2026, this DLC moves the action to New Edinburgh, where overused geothermal energy has triggered a volcanic crisis.
Additionally, the studio unveiled Frostpunk 1886, a complete, ground-up remake of the original 2018 classic.
Coming in 2027, this reimagining utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to deliver enhanced visuals, new content, and the highly requested addition of mod support.
As the team continues work on a third DLC for the sequel, codenamed Surge, and prepares the original game for a Nintendo Switch release, it is clear that the franchise's frozen world is expanding in ambitious new directions.
