A tragic traffic accident occurred on the morning of Saturday, August 22, 2026, claiming the lives of five individuals in Lagos State.
The incident took place around 5:00 a.m. along the busy Lagos-Badagry Expressway, specifically near the Sawmill/Mowo Bus Stop.
According to preliminary reports, a Toyota Camry, with registration FKJ 630 KS, lost control due to over-speeding and reckless driving.
The vehicle mounted a road culvert before colliding head-on with an oncoming truck.
Tragically, all five occupants of the car, including the driver identified as Opeyemi Taiwo, died instantly.
While the truck driver fled the scene, emergency responders from multiple agencies, including LASEMA and the FRSC, were quickly deployed to clear the site and manage traffic.
