The iconic manga Fairy Tail is turning twenty, and creator Hiro Mashima is marking the occasion with a special gift for fans.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his hit franchise, Mashima is returning to write and illustrate a new, short-term manga series titled Fairy Tail Re:FANTASIA.
The series will premiere on July 29, 2026, in Weekly Shonen Magazine, ahead of its original August schedule.
While the plot is largely mysterious, Mashima has revealed that the story focuses on the powerful Laxus Dreyar, keeping Natsu and other favorites involved in the adventure.
Since debuting in 2006, the franchise has become a global phenomenon with over 70 million copies in circulation.
The anniversary celebrations extend far beyond the page, including a five-city signing tour, commemorative exhibitions, and a new lottery featuring exclusive character figures from Bandai Spirits.
With the original anime series also streaming, it is a fantastic time for both new and long-time guild members to dive back into the magical world of Earth-land.
