EU and Pakistan to boost economic ties at upcoming Business Forum

On April 28–29, 2026, Islamabad will host the first-ever High-Level EU–Pakistan Business Forum.

This landmark event signals a shift from traditional trade toward deeper industrial collaboration.

While the EU remains Pakistan's largest export destination—with bilateral trade hitting €11.87 billion in 2023—the forum aims to move beyond reliance on the GSP+ framework.

By launching the new EU–Pakistan Business Network, officials hope to attract European investment in sectors like renewable energy, digital innovation, and agri-business.

A key theme is aligning with the EU’s €400 billion Global Gateway strategy to fund sustainable infrastructure.
