Canadian cleantech leader CHAR Technologies is making significant strides in transforming organic waste into sustainable resources.
Using their proprietary High-Temperature Pyrolysis (HTP) technology, the company converts materials like woody biomass and biosolids into biocarbon and renewable energy, including renewable natural gas and green hydrogen.
This process serves as a vital bridge toward decarbonizing heavy industries like steelmaking.
A major highlight is the Thorold Renewable Energy Facility in Ontario, which is set to begin commissioning its biocarbon production in early 2026.
Beyond energy production, CHAR Tech is addressing urgent environmental concerns by applying its HTP process to destroy PFAS, the harmful 'forever chemicals' found in wastewater.
These advancements underscore the company’s crucial role in advancing the circular economy and helping industries meet rigorous new environmental regulations.
