Canada Invests in Sustainable Aviation Technology

Canada is taking bold steps to transform its aerospace industry by committing to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Recognizing that aviation is a challenging sector to decarbonize, the government has introduced the Aviation Climate Action Plan to guide the country toward this ambitious goal.

A central part of this mission is the Initiative for Sustainable Aviation Technology (INSAT), which has received $350 million in funding to support research in electrical propulsion, cleaner fuels, and innovative aircraft designs.

By leveraging Canada's abundant natural resources, such as forestry and agricultural waste, the country hopes to build a robust "made-in-Canada" supply chain.

Through collaboration with the Canadian Council for Sustainable Aviation Fuels, Canada is not only fighting climate change but also positioning itself as a global leader in the future of green aerospace technology.
