On June 11, 2026, Zurich-based VERAXA Biotech AG officially entered the public market, beginning trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker symbol 'VRXA'.
Although the merger process began in April 2025, the final transition to public status faced significant hurdles; nearly all of Voyager's shareholders opted to redeem their shares, resulting in limited cash flow from the SPAC trust.
VERAXA, which originated from research at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, specializes in oncology.
Their proprietary BiTAC technology acts as a biological 'AND gate,' ensuring that immune responses are triggered only when two tumor markers are present.
This approach aims to maximize the destruction of solid tumors while sparing healthy tissue.
As a pre-commercial firm, VERAXA is currently focused on advancing its antibody-based therapeutics, including bispecific T-cell engagers and antibody-drug conjugates.
Having secured additional funding through note financing and share purchase agreements, the company now faces the critical challenge of navigating clinical trials to prove the efficacy of its innovative pipeline.
