Australia is gearing up for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, with basketball officials recently announcing their official squads for 3x3 and 3x3 wheelchair basketball.
The teams, known respectively as the Gangurrus and Wombats, will compete at the SEC Centre in Glasgow from July 24 to July 29, 2026.
The selection highlights the impressive depth of talent within Australian basketball, featuring a mix of seasoned veterans and exciting newcomers.
The men's Gangurrus squad will be bolstered by the experience of Perth Wildcats veteran Jesse Wagstaff, who is aiming for another medal to add to his gold and silver collection.
Coming off the back of strong performances in Birmingham 2022, where the men’s team claimed silver and the women’s team took bronze, Australia is highly focused on a podium finish.
With 3x3 basketball rapidly expanding, these squads are ready to showcase their skills on the international stage as they represent the nation in Scotland.
