Auckland is experiencing a significant economic resurgence thanks to the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC).
Since opening in February 2026, this NZ$750 million state-of-the-art facility has become a vital economic engine for the city.
Its potential was proven during the hosting of MEETINGS 2026, the nation’s flagship business events trade show.
Held in June 2026, the event brought together over 700 buyers and 253 exhibitors, resulting in approximately 8,000 professional appointments.
The success was so impactful that Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) confirmed the event will remain at the NZICC through 2029.
This is excellent news for local businesses, as business delegates are high-value visitors who spend significantly more than the average tourist.
After years of construction challenges, the center has finally emerged as a powerful hub, successfully positioning Auckland as a premier destination for global business gatherings.
