Apple TV+ Orders New Cult Horror Series 'Ascension'

Apple TV+ has officially greenlit a chilling new psychological horror series titled 'Ascension.'

This anticipated project marks a reunion between the streaming giant and Oscar-winning filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, following their work on the limited series 'Disclaimer.'

Based on Adam Nevill’s 2012 horror novel 'Last Days,' the story centers on Rose, played by 'Outlander' star Caitríona Balfe.

As a relentless documentary filmmaker and mother, Rose begins investigating the secretive Church of Ascension, eventually discovering a dark, sinister reality hidden beneath its facade.

The series, which has been in development for several years, explores heavy themes of innocence, evil, and the extreme sacrifices made for family.
