Fans of the popular light novel series 'The Apothecary Diaries' have exciting news to celebrate.
As of September 2026, it has been officially confirmed that the captivating story of Maomao will be adapted into a live-action television series.
The project, a collaborative effort between Amazon MGM Studios and TOHO, is scheduled for a worldwide release in 2028, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video across more than 240 territories.
Renowned actress Mana Ashida, celebrated for her performances in 'Pacific Rim' and 'Mother', will step into the shoes of the brilliant protagonist, Maomao.
The series will be helmed by director Yuki Saito, with a screenplay penned by Erika Yoshida, known for her work on 'Bocchi the Rock!'.
Based on the novels by Natsu Hyuuga and illustrated by Touko Shino, the story follows an apothecary navigating the complex intrigue of the Emperor's rear palace.
