The global literary community is mourning the loss of Keigo Higashino, one of Japan's most celebrated and prolific mystery novelists, who passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 68.
His publisher, Kodansha, announced that the cause of death was colorectal cancer.
Over a career spanning four decades, Higashino published 106 books, including global bestsellers like 'The Devotion of Suspect X' and 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store.'
