On September 15, 2026, Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5, a groundbreaking humanoid robot designed to work safely alongside humans in industrial settings.
Unlike traditional robots that require protective cages, Digit 5 features a 'cooperatively safe' design.
It uses advanced AI and multi-sensor fusion to detect humans, allowing it to move aside or stop automatically to prevent collisions.
Additionally, it uses visual and auditory cues to signal its next moves, making it predictable for human coworkers.
With an impressive battery system that charges in just 9 minutes, Digit 5 is capable of working nearly 20 hours a day.
Following the success of its predecessor, which logged over 65,000 operational hours, Digit 5 is set to transform factory floors.
Agility Robotics plans to begin early customer access in early 2027, with full market availability expected by the end of that year, marking a new era of collaborative robotics in human-centric workplaces.
