Demon Slayer film surpasses 100 billion yen globally
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1 has officially made history.
While the previous record-holder, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, still holds the title for the highest domestic earnings in Japan, Infinity Castle – Part 1 has surpassed it in total worldwide revenue.
This massive success was largely driven by international audiences, who accounted for 77.7 billion yen of the total earnings, drawing in over 71 million viewers outside of Japan alone.
Released in August 2025, the film benefited from a strong global strategy and the consistently high technical standards set by the animation studio Ufotable.
As the first chapter of a highly anticipated trilogy adapting the final manga arc, the film’s performance has been a major boost for the Japanese film industry.
With nearly 100 million total viewers globally, the franchise continues to solidify its dominance, proving that the demand for high-quality anime storytelling is stronger than ever on the international stage.
