Macao hosts annual international parade celebrating cultural exchange
The Macao International Parade is a vibrant annual event that highlights the city’s unique heritage as a bridge between East and West.
First launched in 2011, the parade was rebranded from the Macao Latin City Parade to its current name.
The procession typically starts at the iconic Ruins of St.
Paul’s, moving through historic UNESCO World Heritage sites before reaching Sai Van Lake Square.
Featuring over 1,500 performers from across the globe, the event is led by the mascot “VIVA.”
The 2026 edition celebrated “The Maritime Silk Road,” emphasizing Macao’s role in global trade and cultural exchange.
Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau alongside major resorts, the parade is a powerful showcase of “Love, Peace, and Cultural Integration.”
By blending modern performance art with historic architecture, Macao projects an image of a harmonious and multicultural hub.
Beyond the procession, the city hosts the “VIVA Carnival,” offering interactive experiences that revitalize community spirit and attract tourists from around the world.
