Classic manga 'From Far Away' set for 2026 anime adaptation
Classic manga 'From Far Away' (Kanata Kara) is finally receiving a long-awaited anime adaptation in 2026.
This announcement celebrates the 35th anniversary of Kyoko Hikawa's beloved work, which originally ran in LaLa magazine from 1991 to 2002.
The project will be directed by industry veteran Noriyuki Abe, known for directing hits like Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho.
The series, published in English by VIZ Media, is a staple of the shojo fantasy genre and won the 35th Seiun Award.
It follows Noriko Tachiki, a high school girl transported to a fantasy world where she must navigate a dangerous destiny alongside a man named Izark.
Notably, the series is praised for its realistic take on the isekai genre, particularly how Noriko struggles to learn the local language.
